Claes Studio is a small ceramics studio currently located in Denver, CO. 

Claes Studio got its beginning in San Jose, CA by owner Diane Claes Young.  Diane was introduced to clay in high school, but truly found her passion for ceramics while attending Virginia Tech. Although art was not her first profession Diane always knew someday she would make her way back to working with clay.

After a few years in the workforce, Diane went back to school, completing post baccalaureate work in Spacial Art at San Jose State University.

The foundation of Claes Studio was soon started and the influences of functional potters from southwest Virginia and time spent focusing on sculpture at SJSU were merged, resulting in the work of Claes Studio.

After an unexpected move to Colorado, Claes Studio took a “brief” break, but through enrolling in a ceramics class at a local community college, Diane has found new inspiration and Claes Studio is forming new roots in Denver.
